Mark Christopherson | President/CEO
Mark Christopherson has joined Cryosa as President and Chief Executive Officer in June of 2018. Previously, Mark has over 25 years of medical device experience including 15 years at Medtronic and 11 years across 3 venture funded startups. Mark was a co-founding executive of Inspire Medical, leading the development of an implantable nerve stimulation system for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. Inspire completed a successful IPO exceeding $800M in value in May of 2018. Mark led the research and development of the NxThera therapy during the product commercialization and pivotal trial phases of the company. NxThera exited to Boston Scientific for $406M in April of 2018. Most recently, Mark was the VP of Research and Development at Cardionomic, Inc. Mark has a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology and a Physics degree from Bethel University of St. Paul Minnesota.
Donald Gonzales | Chief Medical Officer
Don Gonzales is the founder and Chief Medical Officer of Cryosa. In addition to his role at Cryosa, he serves as Chief Medical Advisor for Stryker ENT. Prior to Cryosa, he was the Chief Medical Officer for Entellus Medical (ENTL), which was acquired by Stryker in 2018. Dr. Gonzales is a serial entrepreneur who has founded several successful companies in the ENT space including Spirox Medical (acquired by Entellus) and ENTrigue Surgical (acquired by Arthrocare). Dr. Gonzales graduated from Cornell University Medical College and completed his otolaryngology residency at Tulane University.
Doug French | Board Member
Doug is the past President and Chief Executive Officer of the $14 billion Ascension Health system and creator of the $125 million Ascension Health Ventures corporate fund. Immediately prior to founding Santé Ventures, Doug served as a healthcare Venture Partner with Austin Ventures. With more than 25 years experience in the field of healthcare and a vast network of relationships, he is one of the most respected and recognized leaders in the industry. He is known as an innovative and creative leader, a successful risk taker, and superb developer of people and organizations. Doug serves on the boards of Herman Miller (MLHR), and is a prior board member of Emageon (EMAG), Ascension Health, Dignity Health and the Catholic Healthcare Association.
James Eadie | Board Member
James joined Santé Ventures in 2010. Previously, James served in the Air Force and was the medical director and Vice-Chair of Emergency Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center, an academic level-one trauma center in San Antonio. He completed two tours in Iraq as a critical care transport team chief and as the emergency department commander. He separated honorably as a Major in 2008. James received his MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School Of Business, his MD from Harvard Medical School, and a BS in bioengineering, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Michigan. He is board certified in emergency medicine and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
